Saratoga High School is a form nine-12, public loftier school located in Saratoga, California. It is ranked #1 Best College Prep Public Loftier School in California.[2]

Academics [edit]

Saratoga High School is consistently designated a top academic high school. It is one of two schools in the Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint Matrimony High School District, which is ranked the All-time Schoolhouse District in California.[3]

Saratoga High School has a 4-twelvemonth Project Lead the Manner engineering science program,[four] and is ranked #23 in the U.S. for science, engineering science, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).[5] The schoolhouse offers 35 honors and Avant-garde Placement courses.[six]

The graduation rate is 99%, and 97% of students nourish college.[four] It is jointly accredited past the California Department of Education and the Western Clan of Schools and Colleges.[half-dozen]

Student enrollment averages around 1300, with a student-teacher ratio of 20:1.[7] Information technology is a diverse high school, with full minority enrollment of 75%.[v] The schoolhouse community includes families that speak 39 languages.[6]

In 2017, Saratoga High School was named a California Gold Ribbon School for the force of its Student Back up Programs and its focus on Social Emotional Learning.[4] [8]

Athletics [edit]

The Saratoga Falcons compete in the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League (SCVAL) of the CIF Central Coast Section (CCS).

More than 60% of students participate in Saratoga High Schoolhouse athletics.[4] From 2015-2020, every varsity squad competed in the CCS playoffs; titles and runners upward were earned in Boys and Girls Tennis, Boys and Girls Basketball, Boys Cross Country, Boys Volleyball, and Badminton. In addition, private medals were won in Wrestling and Boys and Girls Track and Field.[4] In 2019, the Boys Golf game Team finished #four in California. Boys Volleyball won ii Northern California championships in 2016 and 2017.[4]

Saratoga Football game has won 5 CIF Central Coast Section championships: 1973, 1976, 1980, 1987, 1996.[9] The squad formerly played night games at Los Gatos High School; in April 2006, the Trustees of the Los Gatos-Saratoga Joint Union Loftier School District approved permanent lights for the football game field.[ten]

SHS Baseball game won a Division Two CCS championship in 1999.[xi]

In 2009, the girls' varsity tennis team defeated rival Monta Vista High School five-2 for their start CCS championship in the history of the programme and went on to win the title again in 2010.[12]

Theater Arts and Music [edit]

Performing Arts is a potent area of achievement at Saratoga High School. Almost 40% of students perform onstage through theater arts, song ensembles and instrumental music.[4] The Saratoga Strings orchestra performed in the prestigious Midwest Clinic International Band and Orchestra Conference in Chicago, Illinois in 2018.[13] The Marching Ring and Color Guard marched in the 2016 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, California.[fourteen] The Marching Band participated in the 2012 Macy's Parade in New York City.[15]

Chess team [edit]

At the 2005 National Grade Level Chess Championships in Houston, the 9th graders were national champions.[16] The team won the NorCal Land Championship for a record six consecutive years (2004–2010).[17] [xviii] [ commendation needed ]

The school has 8 tennis courts, an all weather track, an artificial turf football game field, an artificial turf soccer field, an artificial turf softball field, a quad, and an Olympic-size pond puddle.[19] The McAfee Performing Arts and Lecture Heart, a community facility, opened in 2006.[20] [21]
